Who we are KIN in the UK
The charity started by Phil and Estelle Goodwin has five trustees, Phil Goodwin, Estelle Goodwin, Rev Charles New, John Bourne and Alex Buchanan Cook. Rev Charles New has for many years been a minister in the Methodist Church and was until his retirement Superintendent of the Bramhall circuit and Minister of Wilmslow Methodist Church. Charles has Chaired the Trust during 2007, it's first year of operation, but due to other obligations is now in the role of Vice Chair. The position of Chair has been taken over by Estelle Goodwin. John is a member of Wilmslow Methodist Church where he has held office as a Church Steward and Circuit Steward. He is currently Chairman of the Churches Together in Wilmslow, Global Outreach Committee. Now retired, John was formerly Managing Director of a steel pipeline supplies company in Manchester.
The KIN Leaflet identifies the problems in the Kibera and summarises the activities of the Charity through the Guardianship Scheme, the Education Scheme and in Business Support
