Guardianship Children of KiberaSome examples of the approximately 500,000 children living in Kibera are identified below. Clicking on either the picture or the name will lead you to their personal information. These children are typical of the slums, they are fortunate because they are already part of our Guardianship programme however there are many others in more devastating conditions than our examples. The youngest children can be full of life and quite unconscious of the dreadful hand which fate has dealt them. Most of these children have never seen life outside the Kibera. Others, as they grow older become aware of the immense disparity which exists between the Kibera and the rest of Nairobi, the capital of Kenya.
